Multiple
Redundant Application Servers
We have live backup computers that provide a seemless transition when one computer
fails. You and your customers will never be aware that there is a problem.
|
Computer systems can fail at any time. To avoid any
interruption in your website service, multiple identical
copies of the computer that hosts your website are set up to run simultaneously.
When one server fails, there are several others backing it up at all times. You and your customers
will never see an interruption of service to your website or any annoying error messages. |
Multiple
Redundant Load Balancers |
Just as we do with our servers, we have multiple load
balancers on standby in order to prevent downtime. |
24/7 System
Checking |
InstantEcom employs special computer programs
that automatically check the status of each server 60 times per hour. If there is
a server failure, a repair routine automatically tries to correct it. If that program
fails to bring the server back online, a repair technician is notified of the failure.
Note: During the repair process, you and your users will never know
there is a problem or that repairs are being made. |
Facilities Located On
An Internet Hub |
InstantEcom is located on an Internet hub. In addition, our building is
specifically designed to meet the needs of a high-tech environment. What does this mean to you?
It means that your website will always load quickly whenever a potential customer tries to access it. |
Secondary/Backup
Mail Server |
We know that email is important. Your business depends
upon your customers being able to contact you and to receive timely responses. If the primary mail server
fails, a secondary mail server will automatically take over the functions of the failed server. The primary
will then reboot itself, which will restore all of its system functions. Of course, users will never
know there is a problem or experience an email failure. |
Secondary/Backup
Database Server |
Most of the website's information is stored on a special
computer known as a database server. If the primary database server fails,
there is a backup that will automatically take over the functions of the failed
database server. |
On-site backup
Every 4 Hours |
All servers are backed up every 4 hours to other
servers that are located on site. Your data is saved in at least two different physical
locations on site at all times. |
Off-site
Backup |
A backup of your data is also taken off-site
to a separate location in order to prevent a permanent loss of information in the
event of a catastrophe. |
RAID (multiple
hard drive storage)
Redundant Array of Independent Drives |
RAID stores your data on at least two different drives
that operate simultaneously at all times. If one drive fails, the backup drive seemlessly takes
over while a technician replaces the failed drive. There is never any lost data or service
interruptions. |
Enterprise
Class Hard Drives |
All of the main server hard drives are known as
enterprise class hard drives. An enterprise class hard drive costs 2 to 4 times as much as
a regular home or office hard drive, however it has a much higher MTBF, or "mean time between
failures." This is a manufacturer's rating that estimates the average time between hard drive
failures. The higher the MTBF, the less often problems occur. |
Secondary/Backup
Firewall |
The firewall is designed to protect important website
information, such as credit card information, from security breaches. In the unlikely event that the
firewall fails, an equally-secure backup firewall will take over the functions of the failed firewall
without any interruptions in protection.
|
Secondary/Backup
File Servers |
There is a backup file server that will automatically
take over all functions if the main file server fails. |
Dedicated
Server Facilities |
There is a chilled server room, which houses
only servers, that will keep them operating at optimum performance levels. |
Redundant
Cooling Systems |
All rooms that store computer equipment must be air conditioned
to dissipate the heat that builds up when the systems are running. If our primary cooling system fails, we have backup air-conditioning
systems that will take over to prevent overheating. |
Uninterruptible Power
Supply (UPS) |
A UPS, or uninterruptible power supply, prevents power surges and outages
from damaging sensitive computer equipment. All InstantEcom servers are equipped with UPS devices
to prevent power surges and to act as a temporary backup power supply. |
Secondary/Backup
Power |
There are backup power units installed on all
InstantEcom servers that provide power for a short-term power interruption. |
Emergency
On-site Power Generators |
InstantEcom has multiple on-site power generators available
to provide power in the event of a long-term power interruption. |
